ENGINE'S Lisa Parfitt Appointed to Women in Football Board
03RD SEPTEMBER 2019
Women in Football – a network of professionals working in and around the football industry that champion female talent and aim to improve women’s representation at all levels of the game – has announced the appointment of ENGINE Sport & Brand Experience’s Managing Director, Lisa Parfitt, to its Board.
Fiercely passionate about addressing the under representation of women in the sports industry, Lisa has long been a champion of women’s football from the grassroots up – on the pitch (she’s a Level 1 FA coach), on the sidelines and in the boardroom.
Speaking about her appointment, Lisa said: “I’m incredibly proud and excited to join and support such an important organisation for the sports industry. The premise of the Women in Football #WhatIf campaign that ENGINE Sport created is that unless you are part of the solution you are part of the problem, and this is my way of continuing to contribute to the progress of gender diversity in the sports industry. #WhatIf has been a game changer for Women In Football and has proved what good comes from the industry working together towards a common goal.”
Alongside Lisa, Monique Choudhuri was also announced as a new member of the board, joining current directors Prof. Sue Bridgewater, Just Eat’s UK Marketing Director Ben Carter, Liz Ellen, Anna Kessel, Hala Ousta, Lungi Macebo, Jo Tongue and Women in Football’s Chair, Ebru Köksal.
Ebru Köksal commented: “We are delighted to add the expertise of two such outstandingly talented individuals to Women in Football. Monique and Lisa will each bring their own unique personal experiences and expertise to the board that will also help drive us forward at such an exciting time for Women in Football as an organisation, and across the industry.
“The response we have had since the launch of our industry-changing #WhatIf campaign last year has been staggering. It is a movement that continues to gather momentum and have a positive impact for girls and women globally. These are hugely exciting times for Women in Football. Now with Monique and Lisa on board our focus remains on driving forward to make even more of a difference."
