This weekend sees the SSE Women’s FA Cup Final played at Wembley for the first time in the tournament’s history. The product of a ground-breaking partnership which Synergy have managed from the outset, SSE’s four-year commitment to become the first title sponsor of the Women’s FA Cup has proved a landmark for women’s sport and for the company.

The partnership was launched at Wembley Stadium on June 8, one day before the first England game in the FIFA World Cup, and achieved unparalleled and universally positive media coverage.  Over 100 positive mentions were achieved in broadcast, national, regional and online media immediately following the launch.

Since then, positive coverage has continued in the form of a ‘starring roles’ competition featuring a short but powerful inspirational video, offering young fans the chance to ‘take over’ Wembley for the day, as well as score tickets for the final. There were also highly coveted positions as player escorts, trophy escorts, ball carriers up for grabs, as the team helped SSE to inspire a new generation of female footballers.
